Sally Mtambo’s career of more than 13 years of practing the law in Malawi has focused on energy law, energy justice, gender justice and achievement of sustainable development in Malawi and Africa. Sally is a Fulbright Scholar and holds a Master of Laws with distinction from Vermont Law School, USA. Sally also holds a Bachelor’s in law Degree (honors) from the University of Malawi.
In terms of membership with professional bodies, Sally is a member of: the Malawi Law Society, a professional body of Lawyers in Malawi; the Women Lawyers Association (WLA), a non-profit organization that offers legal services on a probono basis to vulnerable women and children; and an affiliated Member of Chartered Governance of Ireland and UK Institute. Through her career, Sally has managed to advocate for law reforms, research and justice that address sustainable development challenges in Malawi and Africa. In governance, Sally’s roles revolve around board governance, shareholder and stakeholder management, risk management, strategy development and prudence in financial management.
