Dr. Fidelis Kilonzo is a distinguished engineering professional with over 26 years of extensive experience in the fields of agriculture, water, and environmental engineering. His career is marked by a proactive approach to addressing complex engineering challenges, particularly through the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and modeling techniques. Dr. Kilonzo has developed a robust understanding of the interplay between engineering practices and critical issues such as climate change, education, and legislation, positioning him as a thought leader in his field.

Currently, he serves as the Dean of the School of Engineering and Architecture at Kenyatta University, where he is dedicated to fostering innovation and excellence in engineering education. His leadership extends beyond academia; he is an active member of the Water and Sanitation Technical Committee of the Kenya Bureau of Standards, contributing to the development of national standards that enhance public health and safety. Additionally, Dr. Kilonzo is a member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya, where he chairs the Policy, Research, and Advocacy Committee’s Agriculture Subcommittee, advocating for sustainable engineering practices in the agricultural sector.

Dr. Kilonzo’s influence also reaches the global stage as a board member of the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre for Eastern Africa (GTRCMC-EA), where he collaborates with international stakeholders to promote resilience in tourism amidst environmental challenges. His commitment to education and technology is further exemplified by his role on the Management Board of the Kenya Education Network (KENET), where he supports initiatives that enhance digital learning and connectivity in Kenyan institutions.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Dr. Kilonzo has a keen interest in information security, technologies for climate change adaptation, and the concept of One Health, which emphasizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. He is also an advocate for Effective Altruism, striving to apply his skills and knowledge to make a meaningful impact on society.
